Sometimes you just want to take the road less traveled; with the surprising new concepts from Kia, you’ll be able to fulfill your wanderlust at an affordable price. Kia recently revealed four off-road Telluride models at SEMA that will make discovering the perfect camping spot, or climbing up a back-mountain road a lot easier. A special course set up at SEMA was built so these unexpected machines could show off their skills. Each model was designed for a different type of off-road experience. The Horizon Roamer, Cadet Leader, Desert Drifter, and Baja Glider will all come equipped with a powerful V6 engine, all-wheel drive, and 32-inch tires.
The Horizon Roamer was designed with the Rubicon trail in mind. It will stand out in the wild with bright orange paint and a roof-mounted cargo rack with LED light bar. A custom brush guard and snorkel allow the Horizon Roamer to forge deep creeks, while the straight-pipe exhaust lets loose a tough growl when crawling over the hills.
The Cadet Leader was designed for those who blaze their own trail, and features a flat military green and black paint job with Rotopak carrier on the rear panels. Amber-colored Halo LED lights will illuminate the path as you charge through the bushes worry free thanks to the brush guard and rear tube bumper with skid plate. Additional features include a modified straight-pipe exhaust, 32-inch Black Rhino wheels, and Milestar Patagonia Mud Terrain tires.
The Desert Drifter was built to conquer some of the most difficult environments. Colored to blend in with arid surroundings, the Drifter comes in Desert Military Tan and Black. Hood mounted Rotopaks ensure you won’t run out of fuel out on the trail. The front and rear are protected with a brush guard and rear tube bumper with skid plates. A Halo LED light bar allows for wheeling after dark. 32-inch Black Rhino wheels and Milestar Patagonia Mud Terrain tires let you cruise in style. Also, don’t forget the straight-pipe exhaust that will warn any desert critters of your arrival.
The final model, the Baja Glider comes in a stealthy deep black paint. It’s ready for action with a front tube bumper and a custom tube rear bumper with skid plates. A curved LED front light bar and roof-mounted LED light bar let you adventure into the night. This beast also comes with a modified straight-pipe, 32-inch Black Rhino wheels, and Milestar Patagonia Mud Terrain tires.
All four of these models have some amazing suspension modifications including front and rear KW Motorsports inverted-shaft long-travel McPherson struts with remote reservoirs, linear bearings, 3-way adjustable damping, and front and rear King hydraulic bump stops.
