John Hennessey's Profile

John Hennessey's Picture

John Hennessey

John Hennessey was born with a love of fast cars and speed events and is the founder and owner of Hennessey Performance Engineering (HPE). In 1991, he left his job as a successful entrepreneur in the environmental services industry and turned his life’s passion for cars into his life’s work. In March 1993, the future and successful growth of HPE was set into motion when a customer, impressed by Hennessey’s winning drives in the Nevada Open Road Challenge events, came to him with one of the first Dodge Vipers in the country, seeking modifications to make the car competitive in similar events.

Hennessey Performance Engineering (HPE) has been making fast cars go faster since 1991. Owned by the speed fanatic himself, John Hennessey and his staff of dedicated craftsmen with a combined experience of more than 100 years in designing, testing, manufacturing and installing high- performance automotive upgrades, operate out of a 30,000 square-foot workshop and showroom facility on 143 acres near Sealy, Texas.
Some of HPE’s most famous vehicles include the Hennessey Venom GT, Hennessey Venom F5, Hennessey VelociRaptor SUV and Hennessey CTS-V.
